Welfare focused Behaviour Support for dogs in Taunton, Wellington & Bridgwater, Somerset.
Are you looking for support with your dog’s behaviour?
Does your dog lunge and bark at other dogs on walks?
Do they struggle with car journeys, visitors to the home or trips to the vet or groomer?
Perhaps they’re on the go all the time and you’re struggling to find ways to help them slow down and calm down?
It can be frustrating and confusing, trying to help our dogs when they start to struggle with big feelings. There’s so much conflicting information about what is best, we’re not sure where to turn and our world can start to feel smaller.
You don’t have to struggle alone!
As a qualified Animal Behaviour Technician, I can work with you to help you turn things around for your dog, before small struggles become larger concerns.
For more complex cases, I can work alongside a Clinical Animal Behaviourist or Veterinary Behaviourist to help you and your dog work through a training plan following their behavioural assessment.

Behaviour First Aid
In-person package to assess behavioural concerns and provide practical solutions to manage challenging behaviours and prevent them getting worse.
Do you have an ongoing, minor struggle with your dog’s behaviour and you’d like advice before this becomes a bigger challenge? Perhaps…
- …they lunge and bark at other dogs on walks
- …they’ve recently become worried in particular situations or by specific things
- …they struggle with visitors to the home
- …they become overexcited, or worried, by car journeys
- …you’re thinking ahead to build your new dog or puppy’s confidence so visits to the groomer can be positive and relaxed
- …you’d like to build confidence and skills so vet visits are a breeze and your dog can be kept in tip top condition
- …you feel frazzled and frustrated, struggling to work or get things done, with a dog who can’t seem to switch off, barks excessively or demands your attention throughout the day?
Are you concerned about a change in your dog’s behaviour and you’d like professional advice to help manage the situation?
If you choose the Behaviour First Aid service, we’ll work together to understand what may be causing your dog’s behaviour and to help you put in place appropriate management and training strategies to prevent problems getting worse.
Following your package, l may be able to offer further follow on sessions to provide ongoing support, though some cases will require further referral to a suitably qualified professional.

Written notes with step by step guidance on any training exercises to help you remember everything we’ve covered and advice on recommended next steps, whether that’s continuing with All for Woofs or onwards referral to a suitably qualified professional.

Testimonial
“Hayley has been fantastic with the training of our young Shih tzu. She has been so patient and understanding with all of the difficulties we have experienced with Frankie. After 2 months of training us, and Frankie, we now have a calmer pup that is a joy to walk and makes family time so enjoyable with no stress !!!
Hayley gave us loads of advise and knowledge on how to develop the training in the future.
Would definitely recommend Hayley”

Frequently asked questions
My dog has bitten another dog or person. Can you help?
Unfortunately not at this time as this would be beyond the remit of an Animal Behaviour Technician. Please see the ABTC Practitioner Directory to find a Clinical Animal Behaviourist or Veterinary Behaviourist for assistance. If you’re unsure of who to ask I’m always happy to share my recommendations of local practitioners.
Do I need Training or Behaviour Support?
Training involves teaching your dog new skills, such as walking on a loose lead, coming when called or being able to settle out and about, in a pub or café for example. To work on these sorts of skills with your dog, take a look at options for One to One Training or Group Classes.
Behaviour Support focuses on how a dog is feeling and working to change your dog’s response to certain environments or triggers that they may find worrying or overexciting. You can view Behaviour Support options here.
What is the difference between a Clinical Animal Behaviourist and an Animal Behaviour Technician?
A Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) can diagnose behavioural problems and put in place a fully comprehensive plan to help you work through the issues you are experiencing with your dog. CABs should always work on veterinary referral.
An Animal Behaviour Technician (ABT) can assist you with Behavioural First Aid and Preventative Advice, to help prevent issues becoming worse. They may liaise with your vet and/or refer you on to a CAB if they feel further support is needed to help your dog.
What happens if you refer my dog on to a Clinical Animal Behaviourist or Veterinary Behaviourist?
In some cases it may be appropriate for me to refer your case on to a Clinical Animal Behaviourist for more in depth support. I will provide you with details of highly qualified and experienced professionals so you can see who might be a good fit and I can also contact them to let them know of the referral and explain what we have covered together.
Following their assessment of your dog, you can continue to work with them or I can help you to implement their training plan, with their agreement and under their guidance.
